By accessing or using MyBookPDF.com (“the Service”), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, please discontinue use. These terms apply to all visitors and readers of the Service. You do not need to create an account; using the Service constitutes acceptance.
MyBookPDF is a free, browser-based reading platform for public domain literary works. We host formatted versions of books whose copyright has expired (or that were placed in the public domain by their authors) and present them with a distraction-free reading interface that includes theme controls, font adjustment, automatic reading-position saving, and chapter navigation. No download, no install, no account.
Every book on MyBookPDF is a public domain work. Our primary text source is Project Gutenberg, supplemented by Standard Ebooks and the Internet Archive. We do not claim copyright over the underlying literary works. We do claim a thin layer of copyright over our formatting, navigation code, original editorial commentary on category pages, the visual design of the site, and the software that powers the reading interface — these are made available under the MIT license for the code and Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 for editorial commentary.
If you believe a work on MyBookPDF is not actually in the public domain — for instance, because the version we host derives from a translation or annotation that remains under copyright — please contact us via the contact page with: the title, author, publication year, the specific URL of the page in question, and your reasoning. We respond to credible takedown notices within 7 days. If we agree the work is under copyright, we remove it within 48 hours of confirmation.
You may use MyBookPDF for personal, educational, scholarly, or any other lawful purpose. You may link to any page. You may quote passages with normal attribution. You may NOT: (a) scrape the entire site for redistribution under another brand (use Project Gutenberg directly — it provides bulk downloads designed for that purpose); (b) attempt to disable, disrupt, or reverse-engineer the reading interface for purposes other than personal accessibility; (c) deploy automated agents that request pages faster than a real human reader could plausibly consume them; (d) misrepresent MyBookPDF as endorsing third-party content, products, or services.
MyBookPDF is funded by display advertising provided by Google AdSense on category, editorial, and homepage views. No ads appear inside the reading interface itself. By using the Service you accept that these ads may be displayed. We do not endorse advertisers. Advertiser claims are the advertiser’s responsibility, not ours. See our privacy policy for details on ad cookies and opt-out paths.
The Service is provided “as is” without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We make reasonable efforts to ensure the text is faithful to the public-domain source, but we do not guarantee error-free transcription. Where the underlying source contains historical biases, outdated science, or culturally objectionable content, that content is preserved as published; MyBookPDF does not curate against historical record. If you spot a transcription error (typo, missing paragraph, wrong chapter break), the contact page is the fastest way to flag it.
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, MyBookPDF, its operator, and its hosting providers are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of data, arising from your use of the Service. Some jurisdictions (notably some EU member states and US states) do not allow limitation of certain implied warranties; in those cases this limitation applies only to the maximum extent that local law allows.
We may add, remove, or modify books, features, design, or these terms at any time. Material changes to these terms will be reflected in the “Last updated” date. Continued use after a change is acceptance. If we discontinue the Service entirely, the underlying books remain available at Project Gutenberg, Standard Ebooks, and the Internet Archive — we don’t hold the source.
These terms are governed by the laws of the Netherlands, where the operator is based, without regard to its conflict-of-law provisions. Any dispute arising from your use of the Service that cannot be resolved by ordinary correspondence will be resolved in the courts of the Netherlands. EU consumers retain any non-waivable rights under EU consumer law.
Questions about these terms, copyright concerns, takedown notices, or any other matter — please use our contact page.
