MyBookPDF does not require an account, does not ask for your name or email, and does not use tracking cookies that follow you across other sites. Your reading preferences (theme, font size, last-read chapter) are stored in your own browser using localStorage — they never leave your device unless you specifically choose to sync them through your browser’s own sync feature (e.g., Chrome Sync, Firefox Sync). We use lightweight, privacy-respecting analytics to count anonymous page views and three Google services (AdSense for ad delivery, Fonts for typography, AdsBot/Search for indexing). Everything below is the detail.
We do not ask you to register. We do not maintain a database of users. The only information that originates from your visit and is held by MyBookPDF is whatever your browser sends to our server with every page request — IP address, browser type, the URL you requested, the referring URL (if any), and a timestamp. These are recorded in standard server logs maintained by our hosting provider for security and aggregate-traffic purposes and are not used to build a profile of you. Logs are retained for a maximum of 30 days and then deleted.
MyBookPDF uses localStorage (a small per-domain key-value store inside your browser) to remember your theme choice (light/dark/sepia), font size, font family, line spacing, and the chapter you last opened in each book. This is the same technology a notes app or to-do app uses; it is not a cookie and is not transmitted to any server. You can clear it at any time from your browser’s site-data settings.
MyBookPDF itself does not set tracking cookies. Third-party services we embed (described next) may set their own cookies; you can view and control these in your browser settings.
We use two privacy-respecting analytics tools to understand which books are being read and where readers come from, both of which avoid building cross-site profiles:
Some pages on MyBookPDF display advertisements served by Google AdSense. Google and its partners may use cookies and similar technologies to serve ads based on a user’s prior visits to this and other websites. You can opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings or — for the broader ad industry — www.aboutads.info. For more detail on how Google uses data when you visit our partners’ sites, see policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites.
No ads appear on the reading interface itself — reading is uninterrupted. Ads are limited to category browse pages, the homepage, and editorial reading guides.
If you are in the European Economic Area (EEA), United Kingdom, or California, you have additional rights under the GDPR, UK GDPR, and CCPA respectively: the right to access, correct, delete, and port your personal data, and the right to object to processing. Because MyBookPDF does not maintain user accounts and stores no personal identifiers on our servers beyond 30-day server logs, most of these requests resolve to “we have nothing about you to give or delete.” If you are in the EEA/UK and want to opt out of personalized ads, our consent banner gives you a clear accept/reject choice on first visit; you can change your choice at any time by clearing site data and reloading.
MyBookPDF is suitable for general audiences. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. Because we do not collect personal information from anyone, COPPA compliance is structural: there is no account, no profile, and no contact form for minors to submit data through.
We may update this privacy policy as the site evolves or as new privacy regulations come into effect. Material changes will be reflected in the “Last updated” date at the top of this page. Continuing to use MyBookPDF after a policy update constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
Questions about this privacy policy, requests to exercise GDPR/CCPA rights, or concerns about how data is handled — please use our contact page. We typically respond within 48 hours and aim to resolve privacy-related requests within 30 days.
